As we are experiencing a different sort of Christmas this year, we do well to look afresh at the Christmas story for, without a doubt, Joseph experienced a time that was well outside the boundaries of his expectations! He certainly had no clue about all that he would be going through and all that would be asked of him. And yet, Joseph had no clue of the great blessings that God was drawing him into. And what about us? How, with all our plans rearranged, is God present and at work in this time?

After a few days off, I am back at it. … Today we meditate further on the importance of Joseph. There are two main points in today’s post. First, Joseph is important simply because of the way that God has ordered the creation – family is important. Second, Joseph is important because he was the protector of Jesus.
